Hotel Bärenkrug

Since the 17th century, the inn "Bärenkrug" is an important stop on the way from Kiel to the south. The Sierks family runs the oldest country inn between Hamburg and Kiel already in the 4th generation and has developed it into a small but fine gastronomy & hotel business.

In 1852 the inn received its final name. However, this has nothing to do with the "Bear", but with the Low German word "Born" (source), which a guest had misinterpreted.
